FAQ

  • You will receive a $50 Amazon gift card from Qualtrics via email within two weeks of completing the survey. In order to receive the gift card, you need to have honestly completed 80% of the questions on the survey.
  • In addition to the $50 incentive for completing next year’s survey, participating in READY serves society. READY seeks to provide the most comprehensive research to date on the factors that predict the successful transition to adulthood by using a repeated measures design. Through your long-term participation, researchers may learn about emerging adults’ transitions and assist society in understanding the specific needs of this population.
  • By following the study on Facebook, you will receive updates about exciting giveaways and stay connected to the study for future waves. Please note that the page is public, which means that those you are friends with on Facebook may be able to see that you are following the page. To avoid this, adjust the settings on pages you follow to be visible to "Only Me" and private message us as opposed to liking/commenting on our posts. To visit our Facebook page click here.
  • Your personal information will only be used to contact you for follow-up to the initial survey. The information will be kept private and only made available to those on the READY team who need to know who you are for the purposes of connecting follow-up surveys to your initial survey. Access to your information will be kept as limited as possible. No personal information will be distributed to any third parties or used for any purpose beyond the research. No personal information will be included in any publications of research conducted through Project READY.
  • The research data will be kept on a secure server and only the researcher will have access to the data. Your identity will be confidential. All data will be de-identified for the analysis. At the conclusion of the study, all data will be kept in the researcher's locked office.
  • READY to win is a monthly drawing for prizes such as ipads or Amazon gift cards. Each month we send you a link and if you click the link and do what's attached to the link, you will be given an entry number and entered into the drawing for that month. (Make sure you keep track of your entry number, but if you forget or lose it, we can look it up for you.) Winners are typically announced at the end of the month via email and on Social Media.
  • We are so sorry we missed you! Please email us at ready@byu.edu with your mailing address or call or text us at 385-985-3676. Once we get your address we will get it sent out as soon as possible.
  • Only those who have been invited by us may enroll in the research.
  • Qualtrics is a company we have partnered with that administers surveys online. They do not have any access to your personal information and any contact you have from them will only be for the purposes of Project READY.
  • We expect this project to continue over a number of years. We will administer an annual survey to help us understand your life changes over time. We will confirm your contact information several times a year in preparation for the follow-up survey. Your continued participation is vital for the success of the study; however, you may withdraw from the study at any time and are not obligated to answer future surveys.
